The VP, Fedwire Payments Manager is responsible for the direction and operational support of all fund transfer related activities and processes. The incumbent manages, reviews and oversees the operational functions for Apple Bank’s, Wire Room ensuring compliance with all established federal regulations including OFAC, BSA/AML, and Dodd-Frank. The VP manages the workflow of the Wire Room, ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with our policies and procedures.

The VP, Fedwire Payments Manager is responsible for the direction and operational support of all fund transfer related activities and processes. The incumbent manages, reviews and oversees the operational functions for Apple Bank’s, Wire Room ensuring compliance with all established federal regulations including OFAC, BSA/AML, and Dodd-Frank. The VP manages the workflow of the Wire Room, ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with our policies and procedures.

Job Responsabilities:

  • Manage Wire Room staff and exercise usual authority of a manager regarding hiring, performance appraisals, promotions and terminations.
  • Oversee processing of wire transfer activity according to the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Supervise processing of USD and foreign currency wire transfers on Fedline, SWIFT and Chase Access systems in compliance with federal regulations/procedures including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act known as Travel Rule.
  • Review incoming and outgoing wires for proper instructions and approvals, using independent judgement.
  • Ensure compliance with all established federal regulations such as OFAC, BSA/AML, Dodd-Frank, etc.
  • Support system testing, system implementations and should be a SME with respect to the systems that are utilized by the department.
  • Research and resolve various issues related to fund transfer activity, including outgoing wires as well as FED messages received via the Federal Reserve terminal.
  • Monitor daily fund transfer activity on Fedline and Chase and complete daily proof of Fedwire activity.
  • Process JP Morgan Chase and FHLB drawdowns.
  • Assist Branch Operations and other departments within Bank, maintaining an open dialog with them regarding funding for outgoing wires, as well as other inquiries.
  • Maintain various reports and logs.
  • Maintain open dialog with internal & external auditors.
  • Update policies and procedures for Wire Room when deemed necessary.
  • Coordinate new project implementations such as eWire and IBS Core Conversion with respect to the impact on the daily operations of the Wire Room.
  • Develop system controls and maintain data accuracy for ensuring data integrity.
  • Assist in gathering supporting documentation for audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Perform additional duties as needed or requested.

Skills, Education, Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 7+ years of bank accounting experience; previous wire transfer experience a plus.
  • 7+ years Funds Transfer/Treasury experience from a bank of financial institution.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience managing direct reports.
  • Basic understanding of US Patriot Act and OFAC regulatory requirements desired.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills required and strong knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Strong communication (verbal + written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • Proven leadership/managerial abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-pace setting.
  • Previous wire transfer experience desired.
  • Display strong work ethic and high integrity.
