Strategic Sourcing Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Analyst to join our team. In this role, this individual will be responsible for supporting strategic sourcing by collecting, analyzing, and managing data to provide key insights for actionable improvements to sourcing decisions and processes. The Analyst will interact with procurement staff, finance, business intelligence and supply chain functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Query, extract, sanitize and analyze spend data to help make sourcing / purchasing decisions
  • Analyze data to identify trends and improvement opportunities at supplier and category levels
  • Synthesize data into insights using operational and financial analyses
  • Create spend and savings scorecards, support development of Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Create, communicate, and maintain reports on commodity usage
  • Track commodity pricing and analyze actual prices vs indices and industry benchmarks
  • Lead data refinement and improvement efforts with input from purchasing team
  • Analyze RFx (Request for Quotation, Proposal) responses and summarize results
  • Support the deployment and implementation of Oracle Purchasing Module
  • Assist with administrative duties for Oracle Purchasing Module


  • 2 to 5 years of Procurement, Supply Chain or Operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
  • Experience conducting complex supply chain, procurement and / or financial data analyses
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Oracle systems, Microsoft Power BI and Profisee
  • Excellent skills using Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
  • Familiarity with programming languages R and SQL.
  • Ability to lead process improvement teams
  • Ability to provide training to new and existing users of database and reporting systems
  • Functional knowledge of procurement practices and requirements
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties
  • Experience with a manufacturing organization and indirect operating supplies is preferred
