Under general supervision, theStaff Accountant provides accounting and business support services for theorganization. Prepares moderatelycomplex elements of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and otherfinancial reports. Analyzes financial trends,costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to assess futurerevenues and expenses. Reports theCompany's finances to management including suggestions about resource utilizationand assumptions underlying forecasts. Provides accurate management information on a timely basis for businessdecision making. Performs other related dutiesassigned by management, as requested.


Reporting directly to theController, this position is based in Shreveport, LA*.


Major Accountability:

  • Performs avariety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles andstandards to control the organization's financial resources to ensure that itcomplies with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Prepares balancesheets, profit and loss statements, or other financial reports, as needed.

  • Analyzes trenddata, costs, revenues, commitments and obligations to help develop futurerevenues and expenses.

  • Develops management reports of theorganization's finances including resource utilization and assumptionsunderlying forecasts.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares andposts accruals and prepayments for Corporate Accounts.

  • Prepares weeklycash-flow forecasts.

  • Prepares month-endcontrol account reconciliations.

  • Provides invoicingand approvals for Corporate Accounts.

  • Provides paymentinitiation for Corporate Accounts.

  • Preparesintercompany recharges, as needed.

  • Followsprocedures and guidelines to maintain financial records and ensure thatfinancial transactions are properly recorded.

  • Ensures accuracyof entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to ensurean accurate statement of the Company's financial position.

  • Collects, compiles,verifies an analyzes financial information; prepares accurate and timelyreports, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation statements,cash flow, debtor and creditor lists, repayment schedules, regulatory reportsand filings, and/or similar financial data.

  • Analyzes costs,revenues, financial commitments and obligations incurred to assess futurerevenues and expenses.

  • May provide technical accounting advise withinarea of expertise to functional or operational area managers to assist indeveloping revenue and expense budgets, understanding financial reports, andmanaging financial responsibilities.



Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance isrequired.

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Accounting/Financefield.

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Must have working knowledge of an ERP system.Should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, FixedAsset software, Internet software, and order processing systems.

  • Experience in AS400 environment preferred.

  • The successful candidate must possess goodverbal and written communications skills and be able to function as part ofmultiple teams in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment. Must be highlyorganized and comfortable working with tight deadlines.

  • Must be dependable and quality focused.

  • Position will have interaction with internalcontacts in Operations, Materials, Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales.

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment.
