As an event sales coordinator, you’ll be expected to think on your feet and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. You’ll need to be flexible and easily able to adapt to new and changing situations, and work alongside the sales team or on your own. Sales is a large part of the role, so you will need to have a friendly and approachable personality, and plenty of self-confidence. The best sales consultants are observant and intuitive, and have great communication, listening and interpersonal skills – all which are required for the role. Great organizational skills are also essential.
The minimum qualification required for the role is a high school diploma or equivalent. We do not require candidates to have achieved a college degree, however a degree in psychology, sociology, business, marketing, communications, media or nonprofit sector is desirable and applications from candidates with these qualifications are welcomed. No previous sales or marketing experience is necessary as we will provide successful candidates with an in-house training program.
