  • Experienced RNs are eligible for a bonus of up to $10,000.

  • New graduate nurses are eligible for a bonus of up to $2,000.


    The Extended Recovery Unit (ERU) at Froedtert Hospital is an 8 bed unit that cares for outpatient post-surgical patients who require extra monitoring/extended recovery. Achieving top performer ranking (>90th percentile) for patient satisfaction the last 5 years, with a patient to nurse ratio of 4:1, teamwork is our focus, to provide the highest quality patient care.


    The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin regional health care network is composed of an academic medical center, two community hospitals and more than 25 primary and specialty care health centers and clinics. The Froedtert & MCW health network offers exceptional care in the community and streamlined, coordinated access to specialty expertise, clinical trials and the full range of tertiary care capabilities of eastern Wisconsin’s only academic medical center when the need for more complex treatment arises.

    *1.0 FTE is Full-Time, any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time, and .001 FTE is Optional Part-Time*


    *Positions with an 'FTE' (full time equivalency) of  .875 - 1.0  are eligible for full-time medical, dental and vision benefits.  Positions with an 'FTE' of  .5 - .874  are eligible for part-time pro-rated medical, dental and vision benefits*


    Shift: 4  Transition - Optional Part-time Schedule.

     

    OPT minimum requirements: 4 weekday shifts (with 1 being an off shift-PM or NOC), or 2 weekend shifts; 1 major/1 minor holiday per calendar year, and all required staff education, meetings, etc.


    Responsibilities:
    The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This individual demonstrates competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population. The Staff RN-Inpatient job description has incorporated essential functions which are adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010).

    Summary:
    Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to area of employment. Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing in order to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse is required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). Mandatory BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
