RPA Systems Engineer

Job Description

The primary role of the RPA Systems Engineer is to work closely with business representatives to design process automation solutions utilizing Robotic Process Automation tools.  This involves developing technical designs and implementation of the corresponding target solution/application.  This development process includes review, analysis, and creation/modification of application systems prototyping/POC, coding, testing, debugging and installation to support the organization's robotic applications.



Responsibilities and Expectations



  • Collaborate with business process owners and technical resources to understand and document the business requirements and solution design

  • Translate solution designs into a technical design and implementation

  • Analyze and evaluate present or proposed business procedures or problems to define data processing needs

  • Proactive and diligent in identifying and communicating design and technical issues

  • Responsible for collaborating with the Business & Systems Analyst to resolve gaps between the business requirements and design specifications

  • Develop high-level and detailed solution design and implementation documentation

  • Create release and roll-back procedures

  • Write and maintain technical documentation

  • Document system problems and resolutions for future reference

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration

  • Select among authorized procedures and seek assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise

  • Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as networking to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems

  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network

  • Create other technical deliverable artifacts needed for project implementation

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related disciplines or equivalent work experience required.

  • Extensive knowledge of computers and operation systems, to include configuration and connectivity.

  • 2-5 years software development:

  • Ability to plan, implement, test, troubleshoot, and develop solutions for operational problems

  • Ability to determine the nature of operational problems and develop solutions for break/fix and optimizing for performance

  • Strong Problem solving, analytical and design skills

  • Previous experience in other languages (C#.Net, VB.Net, Java, etc.) is a plus

  • Adhere to security procedures and protocols

  • Ability to multi-task and take ownership of assignments

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including nights and weekends, in response to the needs of the systems being supported

  • Preferred: 2-5 years of experience developing automation solutions using robotics tools like UIPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, etc.
