Portfolio Performance Supervisor

Job Description

UPS is seeking a Financial Analyst to process and analyze monthly financial results for UPS’s largest business unit, US Domestic. Using SQL, the Supervisor will design, test, and implement processes to produce monthly results. This involves researching large stores of customer and operational data contained in UPS systems and developing methodologies for assigning cost to customers and products. In addition, he/she will be directly be involved with the creation, enhancement, and presentation of new financial dashboards utilizing Power BI Business Intelligence software.


The ideal candidate has designed, deployed and maintained financial dashboards in Power BI, and has worked with large structured data sets in SQL. The candidate also has constructed and presented financial results to management using PowerPoint and Excel/PowerPivot.


Responsibilities and Duties


  • Runs a monthly propriety UPS profit model to produce U.S. Domestic Small Package results

  • Produces monthly and quarterly presentations for executive management that utilize data visualization best practices to explain results and highlight changes in customer and product mix

  • Evaluates model processes and implements costing methodologies based on user requirements and/or business conditions

  • Reviews model output to ensures results are within expected range and troubleshoots processes

  • Directly assists with the group’s migration to new reporting and analysis platforms utilizing Power BI and Visual Studio


Knowledge and Skills


  • Demonstrates intermediate or advanced Power BI and Visual Studio skills

  • Strong Excel, database, and Power Point skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills

  • Ability to work as part of a fun and dynamic team, and independently, while applying new concepts/skills in a time-sensitive, high pressure environment; mission critical in the monthly and quarterly closing cycles

  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of financial terminology and concepts such as, operating profit/loss, operating leverage, and net income

  • Multi-day flexible work schedule

  • Intermediate experience creating financial dashboards in Power BI and Visual Studio

  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Finance or Business Administration

  • Experience interpreting and writing complex SQL queries

  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Pivot, One Note, PowerPoint)
