As a member of our aerospace research team, you will support the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) and other military organizations, having opportunities to work in a dynamic environment with state of the art simulation technologies, simulation integration experts, and experienced military personnel. This work focuses on conducting capability assessments for emerging aerospace technologies and ensuring related tools and methodologies are suitable to inform Department of Defense decision makers.
Essential job functions:
As a Modeling & Simulation Analyst Intern, you could expect to:
Construct military models and entities of varying complexity in a simulation environment.
Provide dynamic scripting techniques to produce modeled entity behaviors, supporting longevity and reusability of simulation products.
Collaborate with study leaders to identify study requirements and develop relevant technical approaches.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, such as pilots and technologists, to identify requirements for system implementation in models and simulations.
Coordinate with team members to contribute to execution of analysis of studies, analyze results, and prepare study findings.
Ensure application of MS&A best practices for all analysis efforts.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
At least partial completion of a BS degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: eligible to attain a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance.
Ability to conceptualize complex problem statements to formulate widely applicable solutions.
Excellent written and verbal English communications skills.
Ability to apply the scientific method to diverse MS&A efforts.
Ability to work well in team environments.
An ideal candidate may bring the following attributes, although these are not firm requirements for consideration:
Active security clearance, Secret or higher.
Knowledge and experience with engagement, mission, or campaign level M&S environments (constructive and virtual) and/or MS&A concepts.
Strong probability and statistics skills.
Scripting and/or programming experience.
Familiarity with modern military systems.
