General Description

This person in this position is responsible for providing technical support in the coordination and implementation of Environmental and Safety programs within the Metal Coatings division.
Education, Certifications, Licenses & Registrations

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required. Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. OSHA, workers' compensation or any other safety related certificate, license or registration is preferred.
Experience

At least one to three years of experience is required.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Extensive knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations as they apply to industrial operations. Oral comprehension and expression. Ability to write effectively and communicate clear and precise instructions. Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel. Basic mathematical skills, ability to read measuring devices. Inductive and deductive reasoning, ability to evaluate and diagnose problems and draw conclusions.
Essential Duties

  • Update and revise storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) as needed.
  • Maintain a web-based task and document management system for all environmental compliance related activities.
  • Develop compliance matrices for permit and regulatory requirements for air, water, and waste programs.
  • Work directly with facility personnel by providing support and guidance for EHS related issues.
  • Assist with the completion of Annual Waste Summaries, Tier II and TRI reports.
  • Develop training material relevant to EHS requirements.
  • Conduct site audits or assistance visits to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Work Environment

Primarily an air conditioned office. Outside conditions consist of minor exposure to particulate emissions, chemical fumes and hot and cold temperatures.
Physical Demands

Majority of time will be spent sitting, some standing, walking, stooping, reaching and bending. Must be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs. Must have good eye hand coordination. Must be able to see at close range and perform repetitive hand/arm motions.
