The communications associate focused on regional/local communication is responsible for maintaining and executing communications plans and programs in support of RSM’s strategy. This position is responsible for executing regional/local communications for their assigned region, working closely with regional communication leader, local leaders and local communication liaisons to support the firm's business objective to drive consistent enterprise messaging down to the local level and increase local connectivity to our firm and its vision, purpose, values and strategy. Reports to regional communications leader.
Responsible for the development and distribution of regional/local communications, as needed
Word processing and formatting articles in accordance with internal brand compliance
Creating internal templates per new RSM branding guidelines
Proofreading and editing of documents
Composing communications for internal and external distribution
Managing distribution, to include:
Preparing internal and external communications and managing distribution lists using the firm’s tools
Posting content to intranet site and external internet site and RSM Power platform
Compiling and evaluating reports on content performance.
Coordinate with local communications liaisons to execute local office communication for their assigned regions.
First point of contact to surface communication needs and story ideas
Maintain contact with liaisons to stay engaged with local office happenings and provide guidance on routine office related events (i.e., office moves, partner announcements, weather-related incident response, etc.) that require communication support, leveraging toolkits whenever possible
Publish local office content in RSM Power, including developing stories, editing, tagging, publishing content.
Gather informal feedback and share with regional communication leader
Monitor local office communications for consistency and compliance with brand standards and style guidelines, and ensure timely distribution of messages.
Develop internal communications strategies, tactics and deliverables to engage, motivate and align employees with various projects and programs. May support regional and local leaders for one or more regions with internal communications on a regular basis.
Collaborate with counterparts on the public relations team and in other functional areas (marketing, human resources, finance, etc.) to ensure that communications are planned, sequenced and integrated across the enterprise.
Coordinate the logistics of internal communications campaigns to ensure that all communications and materials are delivered on time and through the proper channels.
Post and deliver content through the firm’s internal communications platforms, such as SharePoint, RSM Power, Yammer.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to effectively communicate announcements to the firm’s client servers; play a key support role in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns/events.
Assist internal stakeholders with the coordination of special presentations and projects, such as: PowerPoint or other materials; create talking points, Q&A; announcements; and recording scripts podcasts or internal video.
Provide assistance to other ad hoc projects. Examples include:
Assist in content migration and maintenance in SharePoint as needed
Create documents and templates for other groups / projects
Communications project assistance, may include interviewing, drafting, editing and publishing
Actively participate in communication team meetings to share ideas and insights to continually improve communication processes, tools and results.
Actively build relationships with team members and key stakeholders.

- Requires B.S. or B.A. in Communications, English, Journalism or Marketing (Preferred)
Required Technical/Soft Skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Office and social media skills required
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to adapt writing style to the intended audience(s)
- Proven track record of exercising sound judgment in communicating with various internal and external audiences

- 2+ years of experience working with business teams to develop communications that help achieve desired results
- Effective presentation and communication skills
