Accounts Receivable Representative

Job Description

Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible applying customer account payments in a timely and accurate manner.  The Accounts Receivable Representative can work independently with minimal supervision, yet be able to complete daily/monthly work assignments, consistently and professionally.


Essential Functions:

  1. Match a variety of payment types including checks, wires, credit cards, check-by-fax and EDI payments accurately to customers’ accounts.

  2. Balance payment received daily for bank deposit.

  3. Process customers credit card payments.

  4. Research payment discrepancies.

  5. Identify correct invoices for payment received.

  6. Communicates with customers as needed.

  7. Meets all department daily and monthly deadlines.

  8. Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine that procedures/processes are in compliance with the company’s policies.

  9. Communicating effectively and efficiently with management and peers.

  10. Covers essential job functions of other department staff when needed.

  11. Perform other duties as required or assigned by Department Management.

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience:



  1. High School Diploma / GED

  2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook

  3. Must have accurate data entry skills and excellent organizational ability

  4. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  5. Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks and effectively meet deadlines

  6. Ability to produce timely, accurate, reliable and relevant information

  7. Commitment to provide a high level of customer service


Flexibility to work overtime on occasion
