Pipe Manufacturing Production Worker

General Description

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, assisting in the entire manufacturing operation of an oilfield pipe processor. See duties below.

Education, Certifications, Licenses & Registrations

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.

Experience

Minimum 1 year industrial, manufacturing, or factory experience.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within a manufacturing environment is preferred. Knowledge of specific and general safety policies and procedures as relates to the plant and the position is preferred.

Essential Duties

• Operate chop saw.
• Roll pipe down the pipe racks and feed into the furnace.
• Load bundles of pipe onto pipe racks using overhead crane and/or forklifts.
• Paint work order numbers and heat numbers onto pipe using a stencil and spray paint.
• Apply dope and thread protectors to threaded ends.
• Grind flashing from ends of pipe that are created by the forging process.
• Deburring and cleaning threads of pipe.
• Drift pipe to check for ID imperfections.
• Perform housekeeping activities to keep shop area and equipment clean and organized.

Work Environment

Heavy manufacturing with loud noise levels. Enclosed, but not air conditioned work areas. Space heaters and fan provided.

Physical Demands

Over 2/3 of the time is spent standing and using hands to handle material. Spends under 1/3 of the time walking, talking, hearing, and lifting items weighing an average of 50 lbs.

Schedule

Full Time, 7-3:30 with overtime sometimes available
