Position Description/Overview

Aztec Tubular, a subsidiary off AZZ, has an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machinist at our Crowley Texas plant. We are in search of an experienced CNC Machinist who is well versed not only API threads but also general machine shop operations. This person must have working knowledge of Fanuc and Mazak (Mazatrol) controls.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to perform precision machining operations.
  • Ability to read, write, and edit basic CNC programs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine attachments.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain product quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC machines (Lathes and Mills) in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Mori Seki, Mazak, Doosan.
  • Experience in operation of manual machine tools. Lathes and mills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Knowledge of hot forge or heat treatment is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Threading experience should include API…8 round, 10 round, LTC, STC, Buttress…etc.
  • Must have set up experience and the ability to read and write G-code.
  • Machine tool programing using BobCAD or Fusion 360 is a plus.

Minimum Education

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
