1964
Love's first filling station opened in Watonga, Oklahoma.
1972
Love's first Country Store opened in Guymon, Oklahoma. Convenience foods were added inside the traditional filling station. This concept marked a new direction for Love's.
1979
Competition grew fierce as others in the market began to duplicate the convenience store/filling station combination. Love's began to look to the Highway system as its new vehicle for growth.
1981
The first Travel Stop was opened in Amarillo, Texas. Its popularity among travelers marked Love's new niche in the marketplace.
1984
Love's expands into a five-state area and plans to triple in size over the next 10 years.
1991
Love's is named "Corporation of the Year" by the Sales and Marketing Executives International.
1993
Taco Bell Express was built in one of Love's Travel Stop locations. Due to customer demand, one or more quick-serve restaurants would soon be available in every Love's Travel Stop location.
1996
Love's announces the beginning of a 50-store expansion program to include new stops in Louisiana, Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas an Tennessee.
1999
Love's celebrates its 35th anniversary and opens its 50th Travel Stop.
2000
Love's wins the 2000 Outlook Award for its innovative and outstanding contribution to the future of the convenience store industry. The Outlook Award is chosen by companies within the industry.
2003
Love's appears for the third consecutive year in Forbes Magazine's annual list of the 500 Largest Private Companies moving to position 188. In 2001, Love's debuted on the list at 446.
