Julius C. Ehrlich moved to Reading, Pennsylvania where he became a salesman of insecticides and fogging equipment. When one of his customers, a department store, had no one who could apply the materials, Julius volunteered to help them and do the work himself.
With that single gesture in 1928, Mr. Ehrlich established his new service company using the principles that still guide the company: initiative, ingenuity, and exceeding customer expectations.
From these humble beginnings, Ehrlich has grown to 43 local offices serving six Mid-Atlantic states - Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Protection programs now provide insect, rodent, termite, bat, bird control, industrial vegetation management, and bioremediation for both residential and commercial customers. And there are Ehrlich specialists who focus exclusively on mushrooms, pharmaceutical research, health care, and military facilities.
Many co-workers have been with the company for 25, 30, and 40-plus years.
And the company’s first customer - the department store - remains a customer today, some 78 years later - fulfilling the Company Vision of long-lasting relationships with customers.
