Job Description 


An industry leading intermodal and logistics provider is looking for an experienced sales professional.  This position will develop strong customer relationships leading to positive financial results and customer experience for our incumbent client base while also targeting additional client accounts and soliciting new business.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

1.     Develop account strategies and specific plans that target new and incumbent accounts to grow the portfolio.

2.     Develop specific account expertise to generate additional opportunities

3.     Maintain and establish relationships with all clients and industry experts in conjunction with fulfilling the expectations of the role.

4.     Drive key factor performance results (Account P&L, Load Growth, Network Balance and Specific Geographic Market Initiatives).

5.     Maintains close customer relations through on-site visits and customer visits.

6.     Acts as the liaison between the customer and company to resolve service problems and issues.  Coordinates with department directors to ensure timely solutions to problems and feedback to the customer.

7.     Interface with support units including Business Development, Sales Support, Customer Solutions, Marketing and Pricing.

8.     Coordinates the collection process for past due accounts.

9.     Represents company at social and professional functions

 


Job Requirements 

1.     Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing or Transportation & Logistics. Degree can be substituted by four years additional transportation experience.

2.     Five years experience in sales and marketing and/or operations of transportation and distribution systems.  General understanding of rail, intermodal and highway operations and regulations.

3.     Demonstrated ability to work within budgetary guidelines and support corporate goals and objectives.

4.     Maintain and continuous development of interpersonal skills; getting along with diverse personalities; being decisive and establishing credibility; team player skills.

5.     Demonstrated ability to work within budgetary guidelines and support corporate goals and objectives for particular region.

6.     Good analytical and organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

7.     Strong oral and written communication skills; Strong presentation skills.
